Webinar
The basic webinar is being offered three times. There is no need to attend more than once. The Advanced Webinar will be offered once. Those who have experience with advocacy or attended Star Power last year may want to attend the Advanced Webinar. People are welcome to attend both.
Those of you who are doing group viewings please provide Roni at Pace and Partners (rrw@paceandpartners.com) with a count after each one so that she can keep an accurate count of participation.
Registration
If you haven't registered for Star Power yet, please go online at www.ecic4kids.org and do so today.
We do need individual sign up on the web site, it is our tool to get names for registration ID tags, numbers for items such as food for the day, t-shits, information folders, and this is our only way to confirm legislators for each person and make appointments.
If you would like to check the online registration for people attending from your community, please use the information below to do so. This information is updated frequently.
During the Star Power Program at 10:30 AM on May 21st we will be announcing the GSC who has:
- Traveled the farthest
- Brought the most people
- Traveled with the most kids
These people will also have their picture taken on the Capital Steps and have that picture displayed on the ECIC website.
Legislator Gift
The best way to leave a lasting impresssion with your legislatro is to bring a personal gift from your community. We are asking that you bring something creative and thoughtful to leave for your legislator. This doesn't have to be time consuming or expensive. Several people on the call last week shared what they are preparing to bring for their legislator here are a few ideas:
- A banner that has signatures or handprints on it.
- A picture, hat or shirt that represents your local GSC. Could even sign these items as well.
- A child's apron, quilt piece, child's bank that can be decorated and signed.
Feel free to get creative and think of fun inexpensive tiems that will leave a lasting impression. The goal is leave something behind for your legislator that they will put up in hteir office and be reminded of your visit.
Remember that you might be meeting with both a Representative and a Senator, so keep in mind that you should have someting for both.
