Extended Activities
Enhance your child's experience by doing an activity after reading this book.

  • After reading the story play dress up with your child. Skippyjon is a great sword fighter El Skippito, what alter ego would your child want to be? Create a costume and let the fun begin!
  • Check out a book from the library about Siamese cats. Learn about the different varieties, characteristics of the cats or maybe visit the local humane society to visit the kittens and cats. Make predictions about if there will be Siamese there and how many. Was your prediction right?
  • Help your child write their own Skippyjon adventure.
  • Read another Skippyjon book such as “Skippyjon Jones in the Dog House. Compare the two stories. How are they alike and how are they different? What was your child’s favorite?
  • Skippyjon gets into some trouble and is sent to his room. Have your child compare his mom to Skippyjon’s mom. How are they alike and different?
  • Make a Skippyjon mask and cape.
