Volunteers help Great Start projects in a variety of ways. If you are interested in volunteering, here are some possibilities:
- Assist with children during parenting classes These volunteers could be adults or teens who have an interest in children. Activities may include doing craft projects, helping with homework, and monitoring children’s play. Parents are on site.
Contact Ronda Rucker at rrucker@eatonisd.org or 517-541-8987.
- Event volunteers Eaton Great Start provides many community events during the year for families with children birth to five years of age. Volunteers may assist with on-site registrations, doing activities with children, planning activities, helping behind the scenes with set-up and clean-up, wearing literacy character costumes, and other tasks. If you or your organization are interested in volunteering for one or more events during the year or for specific information, contact the Shelley Miller at shmiller@eatonisd.org (for Bellevue, Charlotte and Olivet areas), or Kim Thelen at kthelen@eatonisd.org (for Grand Ledge) Nikki Selleck at nselleck@eatonisd.org (for Eaton Rapids, Maple Valley and Potterville).
