The collaborative is comprised of community members including parents, school representatives, business community members, health care professionals, agencies, programs, child care providers, and interested individuals. The collaborative is funded through a grant from the Early Childhood Investment Corporation. The current task of the collaborative is to develop a data driven early childhood strategic plan for Eaton County.
Any individuals who have an interest in children birth to five and their families, and who are interested in being advocates in the development and direction of early childhood programs and services for Eaton County. What is the difference between Great Start, Great Start Collaborative, and Great Parents Great Start?
- Great Start is a statewide movement to promote early childhood issues.
- Great Start Collaborative is a local collaborative group that advocates for early childhood issues.
- Great Parents Great Start is a program funded by the Michigan Department of Education. It include a voluntary home-based parent education component that assists and supports parents to be the best parents they can be.
