About Us – Mission/Vision/Priority

Mission Statement:

To insure that every child in Eaton County enters school optimally prepared to learn and grow to the best of his/her ability, agencies, parents, caregivers, and the community commit to providing a supportive environment characterized by respect and by the provision of accessible and coordinated services.

Vision:
  • All children will be seen and treated as important and valued.
  • The community will support the first years of life (0-5) because they substantially affect lifelong emotional, social, intellectual, and physical well-being.
  • Children will be raised in families where they can experience positive relationships characterized by love and respect.
  • The community will support families because they desire the “best” for their children but experience challenges.
  • Communities will support families to help children successfully learn and grow.
  • All children will have equal access to community resources.
  • The community will help parents access support and information because it directly impacts children.   
Priority Needs for Services:
  • To work collaboratively to educate the larger community regarding the value of             children.
  • To provide adequate funding to existing programs that have proven to be effective in meeting county needs.
  • To work collaboratively in providing residents with information and referral services, as well as coordinated service delivery.
  • To increase home-based support for high-risk and low-functioning families that targets adult skills.
  • To address the lack of affordable, quality childcare, including the accommodation of non-traditional work schedules
  • To increase in-home and out-of-home programs that facilitate, stimulate, and enrich developmental tasks.
  • To increase access to services focusing on physical, social, and mental health.
  • To provide budgeting education for families.
  • To expand options and re-evaluate the design for transportation services to improve access for Eaton County residents.
  • To insure adequate, appropriate, and affordable housing.
